Hello August!

Hey everyone!~

Another new month now, summer is ticking away very fast. It’s currently pretty rainy and cloudy outside, not much one can do with this weather. But besides this fact, I have been waiting with great patience for many things that are happening this coming August. 🙂

My summer is a ticking away fast and I can’t wait until it is over, as weird as it sounds! Everything seems to happen towards the end of summer. It is in August where I would be able to attend a dance intensive in Dublin. (The Dance Institute).

As I am not a life-long dancer and late- starter this intensive will be catered towards my level. Besides ballet, we will be doing modern and contemporary, jazz, Tap (which I am looking forward to), pilates, Street and Ballroom. I honestly have no experience in any of these dances however I am looking forward to dancing ballet, which I will be doing every day alongside jazz. It will be an amazing experience I cannot wait! At the same time, I don’t want to have extremely high expectations as it might not be what I expect. In all honesty, I am a bit apprehensive as I am already 17 and I feel like many of the dancers will be young dancers. Thankfully, as I am of Asian descent, I look younger than I really am. For once I am grateful to be seen as more youthful! 😉 Many people seem to assume I am fifteen or younger than my real age and now I can honestly say this will definitely help me in the ballet world.

It is also at this month that I will be getting my Leaving Cert results (click here to read about the Leaving Cert). Last month, in June I sat my leaving cert exams which will determine whether I get into the University of my choice. I think it would be equivalent to the A Levels in the UK and SATS in America. Basically, it takes your grades and adds them up in points which determine your place in Uni. Coincidentally, the day I get my results will be the same time I will be attending my summer intensive.

I am planning on pursuing Physiotherapy as my major which will be a full-time 4-year course in RCSI (Royal College of Surgeons). At the same time, I want to develop my love for dancing, which will be quite difficult in consideration of my choice of major. However, I am very optimistic about the future, my ballet teacher; Ms. S. is setting a provisional timetable where we would have three classes a week on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

If you are following ballet.to (me by the way) You might have seen a similar post I did to this one. That’s right I stole content from another website which is mine! Hehehe But, I will let you I have tweaked in some ways to suit the time frame.

Hope you guys have a lovely week! As always see you in my next post.

This picture encapsulates what Ireland looks like now.

Fresh beginnings

Today, I woke to the sound of my blaring alarm clock that broke the silence of dawn once the clock struck 6:45. I woke up with a start, slightly groggy and tired at the same time. It was completely silent with not a single sound. These are the best morning especially when the shiny sun streams into your room uninvited. Today was, you guessed it, the first day of school for me. To be quite honest with you I was slightly excited. As some of you might already know, I live in Ireland. Here, once you enter secondary school you are expected to prepare for the Leaving Certificate which is a State exam at the end of the 5-6 years you spent in school. This year is my last year, and I’m in 6th year now. *biting her nails out of nervousness* And today started out okay. I had an assembly, which was expected, received my new locker, and met with friends etc.

But nothing could describe the overwhelming feeling of finally being at the last year of school. I just don’t know the right word for it. Happiness. Bliss.Euphoria. From my first year up until today, I have waited and anticipated for so long. And finally, I will almost reach it by completing the Leaving Cert. This means I will have to work super hard to not only get the points I need for the University I want to get into but also to succeed this year. I’m sure many of you have felt this way before as if the “world is at your fingertips” and I honestly 100% sure this year will be the biggest change in all my 16 years.

This year, there are many things I want to change when I start. First I want to become more open to my peers. I’m not really sure how you readers perceive me. But I’m actually very queit. Truthfully I don’t have a lot of friends that are close to me, and I think I only have one true friend. But thankfully I discovered WordPress which is a whole different community that I am growing to love!

Dear Readers, are you in that stage of your life when things are starting to get complicated or just what you imagined them to be? Whatever your answer is I truly hope everything goes well even if you didn’t plan it.  Here’s a motivational quote to end/start your day!
